Lisnavagh, Rathvilly and County Carlow
Lisnavagh House is located outside of Rathvilly, on the border of counties Carlow and Wicklow, apporximately 1,5 hours drive from Dublin airport. The house is only a 5 minute drive from the town centre, and there is plenty of local B&B accommodation in the area. See Where to stay.
Rathvilly is small village (approximately 1000 inhabitants) but in time honoured Irish tradition it has a couple of good pubs. You will also find a few shops, including a pharmacy, a grocery shop and a cafe.
A 15 minute drive South, along the N81, will take you to the town of Tullow, home of the now multinational oil and gas exploration company, Tullow Oil. This is a slightly larger town of about 4000 inhabitants.
An even larger town (no its not by any means a metropol), Carlow Town, the principal town of Co. Carlow, is a shy 30 minute drive away. This is a town of close to 15.000 inhabitants and offers a few historical sites, such as Carlow Castle.
